Walnut’s coloring is from dark brown to purplish black. This hardwood is noted for its beautiful grain, the wood is generally straight-grained, but on occasion it has waves or curls too. This species produces a great variety of figure types than any other. Walnut is a tough hardwood of medium density, with moderate bending and low stiffness.
It is a favored wood for using in contrast with lighter colors. Walnut is popular due to its natural durability. It would most likely be best placed in rooms with low foot traffic, unless you opt for a sturdier type of walnut. Walnut also darkens beautifully with age.
